„Live what you love and only as you like it“
In the heart of the Dolomites, in the quaint Eggental, surrounded by Catinaccio / Rosengarten and Latemar, once upon a time, lived the „Ganis“, known far and wide for their warm hospitality.
The „Ganis“ created a comfortable kingdom in one of the most beautiful places, surrounded by meadows and peace, where they had the chance to cuddle their guests and to surprise them every day. And, because the Ganis were a lively and popular company, fun-loving and never bored, they found several “secret places” where to take their guests to offer them great music and plenty of entertainment.
People came from miles around to spend funny and relaxing moments with the „Ganis“.
One day a stranger arrived in Eggental. He had already travelled half the world, but until then, he never found what he was looking for: the perfect combination between variety and peace, luxury and nature, pleasure and simplicity. Restless he walked on the shores of Carezza Lake, where, suddenly a fairy appeared from the turquoise waves of the lake. Shaking her head, she looked at him and talked to him in a crystal clear voice:
„Live what you love, create your space,
for your dreams, enjoy every moment,
with all the senses, only as you like it …“
The stranger was first taken aback, but then he realized that this was the key to his goal. And suddenly he felt arrived and ready to fully enjoy his life.
Welcome at Ganis Ganischgerhof Mountain Resort & SPA
The week of Törggelen at Ganischgerhof in Bolzano is made by Törggelen in South Tyrol and unforgettable moments. Törggelen is a typical south tyrolean tradition. Anywhere in South Tyrol, but particularly at the vineyards, the Törggelen is a regular event, that many people consider the fifth season of the year. What does the Törggelen in South Tyrol be so special? The colors of the nature, the clean and fresh air, the panoramic views and the excellent traditional cuisine.
The origin of Törggelen is in Valle di Isarco and Merano. This tradition was soon spread all over South Tyrol, and it combines amazing walks in the south tyrolean landscapes with good food. All this takes place from the beginning of October until the Advent.
The term “Törggelen” comes from the Latin Torquere, that means press. Essentially where the wine is pressed, the Törggelen could exist. Historically, after having pressed the wine, those who had worked to obtain it, were invited from the farmer to celebrate the result of their efforts. In this occasion, typical dishes were served together with new wine called Suser.
But exactly what is served at Törggelen in South Tyrol? In general, they serve typical dishes such as “Kasseler” or homemade sausages, pork ribs accompanied by sauerkraut and “Speckknodel”. Usually it begins as a snack, with speck and smoked sausages. Then a soup, which anticipates the main dishes.
The culinary Törggelen ends with new wine and chestnuts cooked in the wood stove. In some places, after the chestnuts some typical Krapfen are also served. Definitely not diet, but what makes the Törggelen be an unforgettable experience, in addition to food, it is the scent and the special atmosphere that accompany all the snacks.
The Törggelen in South Tyrol in Bolzano – with our Törggelen week package from 9th October to 2nd November at Ganischgerhof – gives you unique experiences, wonderful walks in the fresh autumn air, a mix of natural colors and excellent flavors.
