William Shakespeare’s play has been around since 1623 and the Ganischgerhof has only been around for 100 years. But what do today’s hotel and theatre play have in common?
When Leni and Walter Pichler took over Walter’s mother’s little inn, nobody could have guessed what they would do with it. Under the name of “Schönwald”, the two formed a hotel that had always been a second home for guests.
Over the years, the hotel has been continuously improved and accordingly continuously renovated and rebuilt. In 2001, the old hotel name was abandoned, and the company returned to its origins. The 4 stars Ganischgerhof was created from the 3 stars Schönwald. In order to maintain what their parents had worked hard to do and to make it even better, the 4 Pichler brothers dared to restart in 2008. Inspired by colourful ideas, the new concept of the Ganischgerhof was developed on the basis of the play “As you like it” by William Shakespeare.
The classic hotel business was rebuilt to meet the new requirements and wishes of the guests, completely changed over and relaunched as Ganischgerhof Mountain Resort & SPA **** S. Since then, “As you like it” has also been the motto at Ganischgerhof.
What is behind this concept? Individuality, freedom, enjoyment and relaxation! Away from everyday life, the guest should be able to organize their personal vacation freely, flexibly and above all without stress. Independently on what you want to do during your holiday, whether you are actively cycling, hiking, golfing or skiing, or relaxing in the 1,000 m² SPA Oasis, having dinner on the “Rosengarten” terrace with an unforgettable sunset or in the romantic “Stube with fireplace”, experiencing and enjoying “As you like it” to the fullest. To make this possible, the kitchen is open from 7 a.m. till 10 p.m. The SPA Oasis with the SPA & Garden Bar also remains open to guests until 9 p.m. and allows relaxation for all the senses from the sunrise to the sunset.
If not requested by the guests, there are no fixed seats in the Ganischgerhof and other unnecessary rules have been consistently abolished. “As you like it” means vacation in total freedom, according to the personal taste and preferences of the guests. Since this change means that little can be prepared and everything has to be freshly made, the service has also been re-coordinated, making it even more personal.
“As you like it” also means giving time and that is also one of the central concerns of the Ganischgerhof. The very personal dream vacation and thus an unforgettable time for the guests.
